The water level of the falls may be lacking if there hasn’t been much rain, but there are also several nearby spots you can hike to such as Inspiration Point that overlooks the valley with a stunning view. There are lots of stairs built into the rock leading down to the bottom of the falls, a ledge between the two levels of the falls with a pool for swimming, and an observation deck from the top looking down into the gorge. Kaaterskill Falls is a 2.7-mile out-and-back hike that leads to a cascading waterfall you can view from a variety of angles.
